Solutions

The key to a happy, satisfied customer is finding the right solutions(s) for their situation. There are two ways to deliver a solution...Build It or Buy It. Both approaches can produce positive results for you and we can help you analyze and deliver in both scenarios.

Which Approach is Best?

To answer this, it's important to understand the benefits and disadvantages of each.

If you build it, obviously you have full control over the approach you take and determining when you are done. This sounds great, right? Well, consider the time and costs involved in producing the solution. It takes a dedicated effort, by dedicated resources to scope the project, design it, code it, test it, document it and train the customers' employees how to use it. Plus, you have the on-going costs to maintain compatibility and upgrade when new versions of Dynamics are released. This may be the perfect fit for a solution that is unique to a single customer because it affords you the opportunity to include all the bells and whistles specific to that customer.

What about solutions that are needed by multiple customers in a similar industry?

If you buy a ready-made ISV solution, you take advantage of out-of-the-box capabilities. You don't have the costs and resources tied up in the development phase (the ISV Provider assumes that responsibility) which means you can have your business consultants and sales force focusing on your next sale. You can implement an ISV solution immediately, reducing your implementation times. You still have the training time. The maintenance, compatibility and upgrade costs are absorbed by the ISV Provider. All of this assumes the solution has enough bells and whistles to meet your customer requests and there is no need to customize/add to the solution.

The right answer is...You should choose the approach that best positions you and your client to be successful and within budget. Balance time, costs, and resource availability to build the functionality against the cost and availability of the functionality in an ISV solution. Regardless which option you choose, our talented staff of developers can assist you in the analysis and development cycle as needed.
